Whitewater Event to Benefit Whitewater Park

Boise, Idaho - - Three local whitewater enthusiasts have announced the return of whitewater competition to the Payette River. The PBR Whitewater Event is a resurrection of the Payette Whitewater Kayak Festival and the Boise County Throwdown. It is a local whitewater event/competition on the Payette river to raise money for the Boise City Whitewater park between Boise's Veteran's Neighborhood and Garden City included in the proposed Esther Simplot Park.

Organizers Sam Goff and Bill Driscoll of Boise are bring their love of boating and organizational skills to the event with the help of Patrick Condon who hails from Stanley.

Friday night will feature a Night Disco Rodeo after participants setup for the evening by camping at Horseshoe Bend. On Saturday there will be a full day of events including a Downriver Marathon Race, Rafter Cross Race, Downriver Sprint and Time Trial and a celebration at the Longhorn in Crouch. Saturday night camping will be in Crouch. Sunday, June 3 will feature an Extreme Race and a Boater Cross Race

All events and venue are subject to change. Hosting events that include Mother Nature can be tricky and, at times, accommodations must be made.
